After wanting to take part in the Marathon des Sables for as long as I can remember, I didn't imagine that with 21 weeks to go, I would be sitting at the end of a 6 week period of training where I had run exactly 4 miles.
I can confidently confirm that Achilles Tendinitis is not conducive to ultramarathon training!
Luckily I can still get out on the bike and have been racking up the miles (700 in the same 6 week period) and am hoping that some rigorous stretching, lots of icing and a bit of luck means I'll be running again soon and can start my "fast track to ultramarathon" training plan.
